Secrets Revealed What Makes This 1996 Squier Standard Stratocaster Sound...

Since finding this Squier Standard Stratocaster by Fender built in Taiwan in 1996 I've been itching to do a teardown to find out as much as I could about it because it sounds amazing.

This video was a lot of fun to make and turned into a little bit of a detective story tracing what and where all the components had come from.

Some are still a mystery? That's where you come in. Maybe you can help me identify where something has come from?
Guitar nerds welcome.

There were a few surprises when I took it apart but it explains why this particular Strat sounds so good.

This guitar was made in 1996 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Stratocaster. The neck was made by Atlansia and it was this neck that sold me on the guitar as soon as I held it.

It is just so comfortable and has proven to be my go to guitar for daily practice. I can play it for hours and not get fatigued or hand cramps just bliss.

  1. Mike, I'm learning soooo much in this series! Also way happy to see some text content showing up in your blog, lol! I'm a heavy-user of both text and video, but for research, I don't have to rewind then type a query, I can just copy/past from a blog post to get the hunt started, lol!

This series is great for both guitar enthusiasts, and musicians in general. Just stuff that's good to know--like that linseed oil can spontaneously combust! I needed to have learned that years ago!

PS: Vicki Warner and I are moving our sites to Blogger. We're gonna miss the wonderful graphics and easy click-and-drag content builders but it has to happen. There are now weekly incidents of foul-ups on the writer's sites and Square doesn't seem to care.

I'm not regretting the move to Blogger but I'm having some trouble with a few things we use frequently in our posts, such as slide-shows, image-next-to-typed content placement (the struggle is real, and when I accomplish it after loads of trial and error, I don't even know how I made it happen), lol! And, video inclusions, which is a regular event these days.

I was also hoping to place personalized background images on our sites but haven't be able to get them to fit correctly, and prevent tiling.

Hoping you'll not mind to lend some insight, since you've maintained with Blogger all this time. I'm wishing I'd done the same!

    1. Hi there Angelia, just found your comments. They were held for approval which is weird as you are on my approved list for comments?
I've neglected blogger for quite a while but intend on using it more going forward. 😋👍
